before your filler appointment

before your appointment

AVOID alcohol, NSAIDS (Advil, Aleve, Ibuprofen, Aspirin), and other blood thinning medications at least 2 days prior to your appointment. These things increase your risk for bruising!

AVOID scheduling your appointment around major events. Give yourself AT LEAST 2 weeks before any major function for your filler to settle and all bruising to heal.

DO NOT come in if you are sick! We will not be able to treat you if you are ill or currently on antibiotics. Please allow your body time to heal and get rescheduled for when you are feeling better.

DO take Arnica a few days before, the day of, and a few days after your appointment. It’s not required, but it can significantly help the healing process. This can be found at most drug stores.

DO let your provider know if you suffer from frequent cold sores. Occasionally injections in and around the lips can trigger a new rupture of a cold sore. Arrangements can be made to pre-treat with an anti-viral.

during your appointment

Come with a clean face! No make-up please.

Come on time!! We will apply numbing cream to the areas to be treated prior to beginning injections. Plus, your provider wants to have plenty of time to complete your treatment without being rushed!

Your provider will do everything possible to keep you as comfortable as possible during your injections!

after your appointment

It is totally normal to have swelling, tenderness, and even bruising after injections. As stated before, plan injections around all major functions by at least 2 WEEKS.

In some cases, massage and icing may be necessary post injections. Your provider will provide you with instructions before you leave.

Arnica is not require, but significantly helps speed recovery time.
